- Made history as the first black woman to be named Miss Delaware and was the first black semi-finalist at the Miss America Pageant, breaking through racial roadblocks. Designer of "Sandcastle" on Guam. A $36 million dinner theater/nightclub on Guam. Was anchor and producer with African Broadcasting at the World Trade Center, New York City. Actively involved in a number of charities--served meals to Atlantic City's homeless-spearheaded an annual toy and clothing drive for needy families. Later, was actively involved with Georgetown University Medical Center's Diabetes Research and Education Program. Was National Director of Black Americans for Life, (of NRLC) Day Gardner received a Doctorate from the Faith Evangelical college in Tacoma, Washington.
